Saudia Rashed
Saudia Rashed was born in Chicago, IL, but relocated to Dallas, TX at 5 years old. After watching the movie "Grease" and the television show "Fame," the need to perform was developed quite early. She eagerly began her dance training at age 7. By the age of 12, her desire to act blossomed and soon she was acting in various local plays. Her first “big" role was Raynell in the August Wilson play Fences.
Determined to stay on the theater track Saudia auditioned for the famed Arts Magnet H.S. in Dallas. Accepted into both the theater and dance department; she chose dance.
Upon graduation, Saudia was the first student to receive the Woody McGriff award: a reward for her excellence and dedication to dance. Consequently she also earned a dance scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin and later a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre & Dance. Upon graduation, Saudia sought to resume acting and returned to Dallas where she booked plays, industrials and commercials.
Now in Los Angeles, Saudia believes “there is no time to waste.” She is dedicated to challenging herself as an actress. She also continues to dance, adding the art of belly dance to her dance repertoire. In her spare time, you may find her at the movies, combing LA restaurants for the best desserts, or singing her favorite songs at any karaoke spot.
